The Rhythm of the Ruimte

There is apoint in every landscape where the painting starts to tell you what it needs. For a while, this piece was dominated by the windmill - that steady, rusted anchor on the right. But as I've spent more time with it, i realized the ruimte (the space) needed a stronger counterweight to feel truly balanced.
Balancing the Veld
I've spent my recent sessions focusing on the left foregroung. By bringing the cosmos closer and making the more vibrant in the bottom corner, the whole scene has shifted. It's no longer just a painting of a windmill; it's a dialogue between that heavy steel and the delicate, swaying weight of the wildflowers. It feels more "reg" now - the eye can wander from the pink and white blooms across the grass to the horizon without getting stuck in one place.
Through the Wire
I'm really enjoying the process of "planting" these flowers around the old fence line. Decinding which ones stand tall in front adds a layer of depth that makes the field feel like it's moving. it's a slow process, but i'm enjoying every minute of watching this meadow grow.
The Final Stretch
I'm still busy with the small things - the way the light catches a petal and how the shadows sit deep in the grass. The heart of the veld is finally starting to breathe on the cavas, and i'm taking my time to get these last few details just right.
